Learning to say No

My colleague has a very pot of plant, I had made a passing comment that it was beautiful before. When she was going on long leave, she wanted to put the plant over at my side and wanted me to water them. Well, the thing is I really didn't wanted to do it, I don't think I want my area to be with a pot of plant. I said, "No lah, my messy place will spoilt the prettiness of your plant, don't really deserve it to put at my area." Well it didn't work and she insisted, "nope its ok, since you said it was beautiful before, I want to put it with you!" Well I have nothing much to said and agreed.

The lesson learned here is when you really did not want to do anything. I should have just told her I don't want plainly. By telling her that kind of nicey reasons, I am not telling her that I don't want to do it and I don't blame her for insisting it on me. Perhaps if I had argue longer and all, she may get the hint, but she may not either. Either way, it doesn't matter. Its just a plant place near me, I will get use to it.

sometimes i have difficulty saying no. its hard when you don't want to be indelicate, and sometimes it preserves ones rapport with another person to just be nice...

is the plant truly beautiful?
