post malaysia retreat
Hi I am back from my company's trip to the Palace of the Golden Horses, where the HR dept is supposed to strategise and plan for the next few months and the year ahead. My colleague and I was mostly disappointed at the outcome; true it talks about good plans and value-creation for the whole company which I feel it will help. However, how do we carry these plans out with our schedule? Initially, I thought there will be plans to talk about alleviating the ungodly hours that we work in; Of course there are some people who can work till 10pm everyday, but I can't. I am suffering from a burnout and yet these talks about more work really make it worse.
I decided to talk to my supervisor about this. Hah...the usual reply came, " its a matter of prioritising your work and managing your time, Boon Chong" Right...when I pride myself on taking shortcuts and efficiency, you tell me I have so much work because of innate characteristics in me. Not that I want to blame on external issues, but it is really too much for me...
But if I resign now, I will feel even more unjust! Cos I have not even have the luck of getting a month's bonus from the company!! Arrgh, its still a long 3 months to go.
